Why Snacks Are the Easiest Place to Add Fiber

Most people eat three snacks a day and most snacks bring zero fiber. Replacing one bag of chips with hummus and carrots, or an energy bite instead of a granola wafer, adds 5g of fiber without thinking about it.

The format matters: snacks should be no-prep, fridge-ready, and good cold. Hummus, roasted chickpeas, oat-and-date bites, apple crisp portioned in jars — these hit because there's no decision at 3pm.

Home cooks on Pepper collect and return to the high-fiber snacks that genuinely work for their households, understanding that the greatest fiber win comes from establishing lasting habits.

Quick Tips

  1. 1

    Batch-roll energy bites on Sunday

20 minutes, makes a week's worth. The hardest snack to skip is the one already on the counter.

  2. 2

    Hummus is the gateway

One container covers dipping veg, spreading on toast, and bowls. Make a double batch, use it five ways.

  3. 3

    Chickpeas in the air fryer

12 minutes at 400°F = crispy snackable protein with 7g of fiber per handful.

  4. 4

Pair fiber with fat or protein

Apple + peanut butter, hummus + olive oil, chia pudding + yogurt — keeps you full longer than fiber alone.
