Why a Fiber-First Breakfast Actually Holds You

A sugary breakfast spikes you fast and drops you faster. A fiber-first breakfast β€” oats, chia, berries, nuts β€” digests slowly, drip-feeds energy, and gets you to lunch without that 11am crash.

Most adults eat about half the fiber they should. The fix isn't a supplement, it's breakfast. Even one fiber-forward bowl moves the needle, and the texture is a bonus β€” chewy oats, crunchy granola, creamy chia.

On Pepper, home cooks return to their favorite high-fiber formulas again and again, transforming mornings into a 90-second scoop rather than a frantic recipe hunt.

Quick Tips

  1. 1

Aim for 8g+ in the first meal

If your breakfast hits 8 grams of fiber, you're already on track for a 25g+ day. That's the easy win.

  2. 2

    Stir chia into anything

A tablespoon adds 4g of fiber and disappears into yogurt, oatmeal, or a smoothie.

  3. 3

    Skin-on fruit

Apples, pears, and berries hide most of their fiber in the skin. Don't peel them.

  4. 4

    Drink water with fiber

Fiber needs water to do its job. A big glass alongside breakfast keeps things moving.
