Ingredients

  • 2 Large salmon files
  • 2 t Salt
  • 2 t Pepper
  • 2 t Smoked paprika
  • 4 T Butter
  • 2 t Olive oil
  • 4 cloves Minced Garlic
  • 3/4 C Pure raw honey
  • 5 T Water
  • 5 T Soy sauce
  • 1 T Sriracha sauce
  • 3 T Lemon juice

Instructions

  1. 1Pat salmon dry, then season with salt, pepper, paprika. Set aside.
  2. 2Add butter and oil to a large, oven-safe skillet over MED-HIGH heat. Once butter is melted, add garlic, water, soy sauce, sriracha, honey and lemon juice and cook 30 seconds or so, until sauce is heated through.
  3. 3Add salmon, skin side down (if using salmon with skin), and cook 3 minutes. While salmon cooks, baste frequently with sauce from the pan by spooning it over the top of the salmon until salmon is caramelized and cooked to desired doneness. Garnish with minced parsley if desired.

Salmon Under The Broiler Is Weeknight Fast

Salmon cooks faster than almost anything else you can put on a sheet pan. Ten minutes under high heat and you get a browned top, a moist middle, and one pan to wash.

Cooks on Pepper reach for these when it's late, the oven's already warm, and everybody's hungry — the kind of dinner you start after you walk in the door.

Every recipe here leans on a few pantry things: Honey Glazed Salmon, Garlic Butter Salmon, Garlic lemon salmon MY WAY, Oven baked salmon with lime and Cajun seasoning, and 10min Quick Salmon Fillets.

Quick Tips

  1. 1

    Pat the fillets dry

Blot both sides with a paper towel before seasoning so the top browns instead of steaming. Wet fish will not take on color.

  2. 2

    Move the rack up

Set the oven rack about 6 inches from the broiler element and preheat it for 5 minutes before the fish goes in.

  3. 3

    Glaze at the end

Honey and butter glazes burn fast under direct heat, so brush them on during the last 2 to 3 minutes.

  4. 4

    Check the thickest part

Salmon is done at 125 to 130°F in the center, or when a fork flakes the thickest spot with a little give left.
