Open in Pepper →Meatballs stretch a pound of ground meat into dinner for the whole family, and the air fryer gets them browned without standing over a skillet. You mix, roll, and walk away.
Cooks on Pepper reach for this collection on the nights when everybody gets home at a different time — meatballs hold well, reheat well, and go over rice, pasta, or a salad without much fuss.
Every recipe here is a meatball you can make in a basket: Air Fryer Salmon Meatballs, classic Italian Meatballs, Teriyaki Chicken Meatballs, BBQ Chicken Meatballs, a Mediterranean Chicken Meatball Bowl, Orange Chicken Meatballs, and Turkey Meatballs with squash and zucchini.
Keep them the same size
Use a 1 1/2-tablespoon scoop so every meatball cooks through at the same time, usually 9 to 12 minutes at 375°F.
Don't crowd the basket
Leave about half an inch between meatballs so the hot air can get all the way around; cook in two batches if you need to.
Mix with a light hand
Stir the meat, egg, and breadcrumbs just until combined — overworking it for even 30 extra seconds makes the meatballs dense.
Sauce at the end
Toss teriyaki, BBQ, or orange sauce on in the last 2 minutes so the sugar glazes instead of burning.
