★ lunch
I spent months trying to get this recipe absolutely perfect and I think I finally got it 😌 this recipe is great for batch cooking to freeze and is easily halved. If you prefer video recipes, I also have an old-ish tutorial on my TikTok: https://vm.tiktok.com/ZMLLvgWej/
P.S. We update the recipes on this page every few days. If you want to cook this recipe over and over again, we'd love it if you downloaded Pepper 🤝.

Open in Pepper →A plate of spaghetti and meatballs settles a table down fast. It stretches to feed whoever shows up, it reheats well on Tuesday, and no one asks what's in it.
Cooks on Pepper reach for this collection when they want one pot of sauce to cover dinner and lunch the next day, whether that means browning meatballs on the stove or dumping frozen ones in the slow cooker before work.
Every recipe here is a real way to get it done: Cherry's Ultimate Spaghetti and Meatballs with pork and beef mince, Homemade Spaghetti and Meatballs with chopped onion, Instant Pot Spaghetti and Meatballs using frozen meatballs, Crock Pot Spaghetti and Meatballs with marinara, Old Fashioned with canned tomato sauce and Italian seasoning, and Mrs. Frank Sinatra's with bread crumbs and fine-chopped garlic.
Mix pork with beef
A half-and-half blend of ground pork and ground beef keeps meatballs tender. Straight lean beef dries out by the time the centers hit 165°F.
Soak the bread crumbs
Stir 1/2 cup bread crumbs into a splash of milk for 5 minutes before adding them to the meat. That moisture is what keeps the meatballs soft.
Brown before simmering
Sear the meatballs 2 to 3 minutes per side in a hot skillet, then finish them in the sauce for 20 minutes so the flavor goes both ways.
Salt the pasta water
Add about 1 tablespoon of salt per 4 quarts of water, and save a cup of the starchy water to loosen the sauce when you toss it.
