Open in Pepper →Monkey bread is the one thing that gets everybody out of bed. A tube of biscuits, cinnamon sugar, butter and brown sugar in the bottom of a pan, and forty minutes later the whole kitchen smells like a bakery.
Cooks on Pepper reach for these on Christmas morning, birthdays, sleepovers, and any Saturday when breakfast needs to feel like a treat without much work.
Every recipe here starts with dough from a can — the classic Monkey Bread with two sugars, Granny's Monkey Bread, a cinnamon roll version, Pumpkin Cinnamon Roll Monkey Bread, Monkey Bread Muffins for portioning, and a savory Pepperoni Pizza Monkey Bread with mozzarella.
Grease the pan well
Butter or spray every ridge of the Bundt pan, including the center tube, so the caramel doesn't glue the bread down.
Cut biscuits in quarters
Quarter each biscuit so the pieces are about 1 inch — bigger chunks stay doughy in the middle.
Shake dough in sugar
Toss the pieces with the cinnamon sugar in a zip-top bag, 8 to 10 at a time, for even coating and less mess.
Flip it after 10
Let it rest 10 minutes out of the oven, then invert onto a plate so the syrup runs down instead of hardening in the pan.
