Ingredients

  • 1 whole package Joseph's lavash bread
  • cooking spray (unflavored)
  • zero carb popcorn seasoning (ranch/nacho/cheddar/garlic)

Instructions

  1. 1Preheat oven to 450°F.
  2. 2Cut each piece of lavash bread into 32 even pieces. Place the pieces onto a metal pan. Spray each piece generously with cooking spray. Then sprinkle pieces with popcorn seasoning flavor of your choice (not too much or they will be too salty). Bake for 3.5-4 minutes. Watch closely so the crackers don’t burn. Remove from the pan and cool on a separate pan or plate. Store in an airtight container or zip-top bag. 16 crackers is 1 serving.

Why Low-Carb Is the Single Best Lever for Blood Sugar

Carbs drive blood-sugar spikes more than anything else on the plate. Reducing them — not eliminating them — is the single most effective dietary change for diabetic and pre-diabetic eating.

This collection skews toward keto-friendly templates that have been quietly diabetic-friendly all along: casseroles, chili, sugar-free baking, almond-flour breads. None of them taste like medical food.

The most-saved low-carb recipes on Pepper are those that home cooks return to again and again to help build consistent habits for steady blood sugar.

Quick Tips

  1. 1

    Read 'sugar-free' labels carefully

Some 'sugar-free' baking uses maltitol, which still spikes blood sugar. Stick with erythritol, allulose, or monk fruit.

  2. 2

    Fat + fiber slows everything

Pair carbs with fat and fiber to flatten the curve. A spoonful of nut butter on an apple beats the apple alone.

  3. 3

    Protein at every meal

Protein blunts blood-sugar response. Aim for 20g+ even at breakfast.

  4. 4

Track for two weeks, then adjust

A CGM or fingerstick log for two weeks shows you which 'safe' foods aren't. Personal data beats generic rules.
