Open in Pepper →Cut steak into cubes and it goes from raw to done in a few minutes, which is the whole reason this shows up on a Tuesday. You get browned edges, a buttery pan sauce, and no knives needed at the table.
Cooks on Pepper reach for this collection when supper has to be on the table in half an hour, or when the slow cooker needs to do the work while everyone's out at practice.
Every recipe here is steak bites one way or another: Garlic Butter Steak Bites, Crockpot Steak Bites with au jus and onion soup mix, Crockpot Garlic Butter Beef Bites & Potatoes, Teriyaki Steak Bites with Peppers & Onions, Slow Cooker Mushroom Garlic Steak Bites, and Air Fryer Steak Bites.
Cut even cubes
Aim for 1-inch pieces so they finish at the same time. Uneven chunks mean some are tough while others are still rare.
Dry the beef first
Pat the cubes with paper towels and salt them 10 minutes ahead. Wet meat steams instead of browning.
Work in two batches
Crowding the skillet drops the heat and gives you gray meat. Leave space between pieces and sear 2 to 3 minutes per side.
Add garlic at the end
Stir in the minced garlic and butter in the last 60 seconds so the garlic doesn't scorch and turn bitter.
