Open in Pepper →A milkshake takes about five minutes and three things you already have in the kitchen. That's why it's the easiest yes you can give a kid on a hot afternoon.
Cooks on Pepper reach for these after ball practice, on the last day of school, or when supper was a little thin and everybody still wants something cold.
Every recipe here starts with ice cream and milk and goes somewhere good from there — the Oreo milkshake, the Cookies and Cream, the S'mores with marshmallow crème, a Lotus Biscoff, a Kit Kat shake, and the Vimto milkshake folks keep saving.
Soften the ice cream first
Let the carton sit on the counter 5 to 10 minutes. Half-frozen ice cream blends smooth without needing extra milk.
Start with less milk
Use about 1/4 cup milk per 2 big scoops, then add a splash at a time until it pours slow off the spoon.
Chill the glasses
Stick the glasses in the freezer for 15 minutes before you blend. The shake stays thick all the way down.
Crush cookies by hand
Break 4 or 5 Oreos into chunks and stir them in at the end so you still get real bites instead of gray milk.
