Open in Pepper →Wings are the one thing everybody at the table agrees on, and lemon pepper keeps them bright instead of heavy. You get crunch, a little tang, and a mess of black pepper on your fingers.
Cooks on Pepper reach for this collection on game days, on Friday nights when nobody wants a real dinner, and any time the air fryer is faster than the oven.
Every recipe here is a wing worth making twice: Air Fryer Lemon Pepper Wings with cornstarch for crunch, simple lemon pepper chicken wings with olive oil and lemon, Honey Lemon Pepper Wings, Air fried hot lemon pepper wings with a ranch packet, a buttery Lemon Pepper Wings with fresh zest, and Lemon Pepper Hot party wings.
Dry the wings well
Pat wings completely dry with paper towels and let them sit uncovered in the fridge 30 minutes if you have time. Wet skin steams instead of crisping.
Dust with cornstarch
Toss wings with about 1 teaspoon cornstarch per pound before cooking for a thin, crackly crust in the air fryer.
Give them room
Cook in a single layer with space between each wing, usually 2 batches for 2 pounds, and flip halfway through.
Add lemon at the end
Toss hot wings with melted butter, lemon pepper, and fresh zest from 1 lemon right out of the basket so the seasoning sticks.
