Pizza Night That Fits In Your Hand

Everybody at the table already likes pizza, so you don't have to sell it. Wrapping it up in dough means no slicing, no plates piled with toppings sliding off, and kids who actually eat what you made.

Cooks on Pepper reach for this collection on the nights ballgames run long, when a package of crescent rolls and a bag of shredded mozzarella is all that stands between them and dinner.

Every recipe here starts with dough you can buy — air fryer pizza rolls made with wonton wrappers, Garlic Parmesan New York Pizza Rolls, Three Meat Pizza Roll with ham and prosciutto, 30 Min. Pull Apart Pizza Bites, and copycat Little Caesars Pizza Puffs.

Quick Tips

  1. 1

    Seal the edges tight

Press the dough closed with wet fingertips or a fork so the cheese stays in. A pinhole leak will empty a roll in the first 5 minutes of baking.

  2. 2

    Keep sauce on the side

Use no more than a teaspoon of marinara inside each roll and serve the rest warm for dipping, or the dough turns soggy in the middle.

  3. 3

    Blot the pepperoni

Press the slices between paper towels for a minute before rolling them up so the grease doesn't pool in the bottom of the pan.

  4. 4

    Brush with garlic butter

Melt 2 tablespoons of butter with a half teaspoon of garlic powder and brush it on in the last 5 minutes so the tops brown instead of burn.
