Ingredients

  • 1 cup Creamy peanut butter
  • 3 3/4 cups Powdered sugar
  • 1 tbsp Vanilla extract
  • 2 sticks Butter

Instructions

  1. 1Grease an 8-inch square pan with butter. Line the pan with parchment paper, cut to appropriately fit the paper.
  2. 2Combine the butter and peanut butter in a microwave-safe bowl & throw it in the microwave on high for 2 minutes. It should look something like this after:
  3. 3Incorporate the peanut butter then put it back in the microwave for 2 more minutes on high. Once it’s finished, stir it again so it’s evenly incorporated.
  4. 4BE CAREFUL WHEN REMOVING IT FROM THE MICROWAVE, HOT HOT HOT 🔥🔥 It’s well past the boiling point so it may bubble at first.
  5. 5When removing, quickly add in the powdered sugar & vanilla extract and mix well until completely incorporated
  6. 6Gently pour the mixture into the 8x8 pan we greased earlier in step 1 and make sure it stays flat.
  7. 7Put your tray in the fridge and let it cool for 2 hours or more!
  8. 8Once you decide to pull it out of the fridge, use the parchment paper to remove it from the tray. If it won’t budge at first, let it sit at room temperature for a few minutes then try again.
  9. 9Cut your fudge into chunks (I like a lot of little pieces because this stuff is powerful)
  10. 10Aaaand enjoy!

Fudge You Can Make In One Pot

Fudge is the candy you can pull off on a busy night. A can of sweetened condensed milk, a bag of chips, and a little vanilla, and you've got something for the cookie tray, the bake sale, or the neighbor down the street.

Cooks on Pepper reach for these when December sneaks up on them, when a potluck is tomorrow, or when the kids want to help stir something sweet after supper.

Every recipe here is short and doable: Easy Peanut Butter Fudge with powdered sugar, three ingredient Oreo fudge, Easy Chocolate Fudge, Caramel Apple Fudge, White Sugar Cookie Fudge, and old-fashioned cooked batches like Paula Deen's 5 Minute Fudge and Nicky's Fudge.

Quick Tips

  1. 1

    Line the pan first

Press foil or parchment into an 8x8 pan with a little overhang so you can lift the whole slab out in one piece.

  2. 2

    Melt low and slow

Warm chips and condensed milk over low heat, stirring constantly, and pull the pan off as soon as it's smooth — usually 3 to 5 minutes.

  3. 3

    Stir cooked fudge constantly

For evaporated milk and sugar batches, stir the whole time it boils, about 5 minutes, so the bottom doesn't scorch.

  4. 4

    Chill before you cut

Give it at least 2 hours in the fridge, then cut with a warm dry knife for clean squares.
