Warm Donut Holes Without Leaving The House

There's something about a pan of hot donut holes rolled in cinnamon sugar that makes an ordinary morning feel like a treat. Most of these start with things already in the kitchen — a can of biscuits, a little flour, some sugar — and they're done before the coffee cools.

Cooks on Pepper reach for this collection on Saturday mornings, when the kids are up early, or on those nights when everybody wants something sweet and nobody wants to run to the store.

Every recipe here is a real donut hole: cinnamon donut holes from refrigerator biscuits, 3 Ingredient Donut Holes rolled in melted butter, chocolate protein donut holes, banana donut holes with self-rising flour, caramel donut holes, and cereal milk glazed donut holes in the air fryer.

Quick Tips

  1. 1

    Keep the oil steady

Fry at 350°F and check with a thermometer between batches. Too hot and the outside browns in a minute while the middle stays raw.

  2. 2

    Cut biscuits into quarters

One can of refrigerator biscuits makes about 32 holes when each biscuit is cut in four and rolled round between your palms.

  3. 3

    Roll in sugar hot

Cinnamon sugar sticks best in the first 30 seconds out of the oil or air fryer, while the surface is still buttery and warm.

  4. 4

    Fry in small batches

Drop no more than 6 to 8 at a time so the oil temperature doesn't crash and they don't stick together.
