Our Favorite Soups From the 30,000 Imported Last Week π
The perfect soup recipe, dishes we think you'll love, and how to import recipes to Pepper from DESKTOP!

It's officially the time of year when I want to live inside a bowl. A big, steamy, comfort-in-a-spoon bowl.
The sweaters are out, the sun clocks out early, and my entire personality is now "what's simmering?"
This week we're diving into Soup Szn π: how to make a pot that actually tastes like something. Let's get into it!

THE PERFECT SOUP FORMULA
TLDR: aromatics + liquid + protein or veggies + seasoning + heat = soup.
BUILD THE FLAVOR BASE πΆοΈ
Every good soup starts with patience.
Onion, garlic, and whatever else you've got (carrot and celery are classic) go into a pot with some fat and get cooked until soft and sweet. Not browned-and-angry. Soft.
Then season as you go, a little at each stage. Salt dumped in at the very end never tastes the same. Trust me on this one.
PICK YOUR SOUP PERSONALITY
Don't get me wrong, all soup is good soup. But most fall into a few camps:
Creamy and cozy
Think squash or tomato. Blend it (or blend just half if you like some texture) and it feels fancy with almost no effort.
Brothy and brainless
The chicken noodle family. Light, comforting, and basically the edible version of a warm blanket.
Hearty and loaded
The "this is dinner, don't ask for anything else" soups. Pair with bread and call it a day.
THE FINISHING MOVE
Here's the secret nobody tells you: a flat soup usually needs a squeeze of lemon or a splash of vinegar. Acid wakes everything up. Add some fresh herbs on top, taste, and adjust.
Done. Check. Fancy.
MAKE IT WORK ALL WEEK
Soup is the ultimate cook-once, eat-many-times meal, and it's usually even better the next day. Cool it down before it goes in the fridge, and most soups freeze well too, which is a gift on nights when the whole family is hungry and nobody has the energy.
Our formula: aromatics + liquid + protein or veggies + seasoning + heat = soup.
FIVE POTS WORTH DIRTYING π²
30,000 recipes were imported to Pepper last week. Here are our favorite 5 soup recipes you should try if you need a lil extra cozy this month:
Chicken Noodle Soup: the classic for a reason, and a safe bet for the whole table (picky eaters included).
Creamy Tomato Tortellini Soup: for when you want your soup to feel a little extra. This may be my personal favorite.
Panera Broccoli Cheddar Soup: a cozy, cheesy-leaning pick for the nights when soup has to be the whole dinner, thankyouverymuch. Pair it with bread and nobody will ask what else is for dinner.

French Onion Soup: for when you're craving French onion soup energy but want to switch things up. Consider it a wildcard that still fits the cozy-season mood.
Bok choy and lentil soup: the interesting one of the bunch. If your soup rotation is feeling a little same-same, this is your sign to shake it up.
