Update: Videos
This morning, we revealed our BIGGEST update to the community experience on Pepper yet with the release of Recipe Videos!
Short-form video content is the most digestable content, but it comes with a major drawback: it’s just not that useful! Especially for those long, complex, and hard-to-follow cooking videos we WISH we could rewind but have to watch 100 times just to understand.
That’s where Pepper comes in.
We launched Recipe Videos with tools to actually HELP you cook! Here is what we came up with…
Videos can be viewed in the Feed & Full-Screen mode. This allows you to experience content as you scroll as well as in a full utility view with every tool we can offer!
In Full-Screen mode, you can interact with each step, replay steps, and toggle between the recipe & comments!

Interactive Recipes
Have you ever watched a cooking video and had absolutely no idea what they were doing even as you watched it with your own eyes. ME TOO.
That’s why we've made our videos fully interactive!
Video in Full-Screen Mode
Missed a step? Tap on the left part of the screen to go back.
Already know what to do in this one? Tap on the right part of the screen to skip ahead.
Need to grab something from the fridge? Tap in the middle of the screen to pause
As you watch each step, you will also be able to follow along to any instructional text & corresponding ingredients that come with each (with of course the option to minimize or expand the info).
Ultimately, you should watch the video however you want! This will be your meal soon :)
Replay Button
Missed a step? So did we, probably.
Tap the button in the bottom right at any type to replay the current step on loop!
Love making cupcakes but STILL have no idea how to brown butter? No problem, now you can replay that single step as many times as you need without having to watch the full video on repeat!
Toggle Between Recipe & Comments
Even with a full video and live text instructions, we all still may love a good written recipe when cooking. Tap on the Recipe icon in the top right to expand the instructions & ingredients to full-screen and follow along!
Enjoying the video, tap on the comment button on the right to open up comments and write down what you love best!

Recipe Videos are meant to be as interactive as possible while providing the most useful experience to you in the kitchen at home.
